BOLT FROM THE BLUE

BOLT FROM THE BLUE is about how the senses of sight, sound, smell, taste and touch designed to function by instinct and intelligence in a human body, can become trapped into a social media web of camera ready cloning and conformity.

In a science laboratory, a young woman experiences a "woke" moment. Her realisation is that she is not an independent being but rather a target followed by a camera which owns and predicts her every move.

Everything that was once taken at face value has become sinister and trust in old traditions has become broken.

To break free from the clean, cold, anti social science experiment, she confronts the camera using a tea cup as a traditional symbol of her non conformity and the opposition to the new normal.

The pink yoke like box over her head is symbolic of the entrapment she feels contained in, and continually grapples with the restraint. As her epiphanies of the real world grow, the release of the pink box finally prevails and defines her escape allowing for her first breath of freedom.
